This Vintage Cardboard Red Plastic Tipped Spool contains a Large Unknown Amount of Silver Metallic Thread. I would have to unwind it to know, and hence spoil the authentic vintage of this item.
It was found in amongst my Grandmothers sewing box and appears to be of a 1970s vintage. The Spool measures 17 cm high. The cardboard base is 5 cm across and the red tip 3 cm across. A perfectly usable amount of thread on this unusual find.
