Vintage 1970s Serving Plate Bowl Teak Wooden With Hand-Painted Mexican Man In Sombero Retro Serving Ware Party Tableware

$13.96

A usual theme in the 1960s in dining, was Cute Mexican Donkeys holding Salt and Pepper, Mexican Men wearing Sombreros, Paintings of Mexican Senōritas dancing in their highly flounced skirts, Stylised Mexican landscapes with Cacti, in fact anything Mexican was much sought after and considered quite exotic.
This is a Classic Teak Dining plate, or rather shallow ,bowl that is a perfect example of the Era.
It measures 29mm across and has a 4.5mm deep rim, making it a very versitile wooden bowl for serving a green salad or fruit or a plate for party food.
The wood is teak so it is resistant to moisture and of course the hand painted little mexican man sits in a cacti featured landscape holding a plate of delicious fruit he appears to be offering someone. There is a tiny black spot of paint under the lacquer from being hand painted to miniscule to matter but mentioned for completeness. it is visible in the images if you look for it.
A highly sought after 60s Kitsch design with a delightful Mexican scene makes this a plate that wont be with us long.
