Vintage 1960s PNG Tribal Art: Pokerwork Comb & Fibre Bilum Bag

This special little vintage package of handmade items made in Papua New Guinea in the 1960's is very unique.
My Uncle worked as an engineer in the 1960s in Port Moresby PNG and would return with some stunning tribal gifts that had been handmade by local tribes people, for us.
This stunning example of a wooden pokerwork tribal comb, with a beautifully carved figure and traditional geometric pattern on the handle. This piece would look excellent displayed on a shelf or framed on the wall. It has no damage and is in excellent vintage condition . It displays no flaws and all comb teeth are present. It bears scuffs and marks appropriate to its age and use.
It measures 25.4cm in length and 8.3cm at its widest point.
The Second piece is a very attractive vintage miniature hand-made Bilium Bag created using natural fibres of Papua New Guinea, including the fibre handle. The beautiful beige and pink hues of the fibres are hand dyed and woven in the traditional tribal way.
It is also in excellent vintage condition.
It measures 12.7 cm long and 10.8cm in width.
Together they make a very beautiful combination of vintage Papua New Guinea hand-crafted Collectable artwork.
